Guest Reviews
I have stayed in many luxury hotels all over the world. There is no doubt that The Willcox is offering what “standard” luxury hotels can’t offer... the feeling of being home. —GUEST
The Willcox...nestled in the heart of thoroughbred horse country... was a favorite haunt of the Astors, Vanderbilts, Whitneys and Harrimans. Most of the guest accommodations feature high ceilings, fireplaces, period antiques, feather beds and plush baths... Rocking chairs line the front porch... A small exercise room and day spa round out the offerings. —ANDREW HARPER HIDEAWAY REPORT “BEST OF THE UNITED STATES”
Guests return to The Willcox, where time slows down to a more relaxed pace – they’ll find a rocking chair for resting their day-trip bones, a guestroom spilling over with modern-day comforts, and a hearty helping of Southern hospitality. —HOME & GARDEN MAGAZINE
The Willcox recalls an age when times were simpler but the pleasures of the season were celebrated with flair. —THE ATLANTA JOURNAL- CONSTITUTION
What I loved most, other than my huge addictive bed, was just going for a walk around that lovely little town and then returning to the hotel. Stepping inside the foyer, every time it took my breath away a little, the high ceilings, the long couches, the beautiful antiques. Like coming back home, to the kind of Southern home I’ve always wanted. The staff remembered my name and what I like to drink from the last time I was here. The food was close to divine. There’s not another place like this. —GUEST

We had a wonderful stay last weekend! My daughter and I were in town for a horse show – first time in Aiken. We stayed one night in Augusta (you were booked) and had to flee because of a less than stellar situation. I called and the nicest lady told me there was one room left, a suite and she would get it ready for us. When we walked in the door we felt at home instantly. Beautiful lobby, people enjoying dinner and drinks, the sweetest lady at the front desk. Treats for my daughter and my dog and champagne for me – turndown service upstairs followed by a beautiful dinner. The food and ambiance were perfect. We slept wonderfully and woke up to enjoy a perfect breakfast, a swim in the pool and then shopping downtown. Thank you for welcoming us to your wonderful hotel! Who knew that one of our favorite hotels would be in Aiken SC?! —GUEST
We’ve been coming to the Willcox for the past 20 years. It’s the retreat to renew our spirits. Thank you for always being a lovely place to stay. Oh, and I love the pool!! —GUEST
We’ve long been patrons of the restaurant but, being locals, we’d never stayed overnight. We treated ourselves to an overnight and what a perfect way it was to spend our 57th wedding anniversary! The room was large and beautifully appointed. The bathroom was a dream...so clean and spacious with excellent linens. The staff from the front desk to housekeeping are friendly and welcoming. If you’ve never stayed there because you’re a local, I highly recommend a staycation. —GUEST
